The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Sunshine Valley Vineyard is a very pretty wine. Succulent red cherry, plum, mint, wild flowers and spice give the 2017 terrific freshness and aromatic lift that suit its mid-weight frame nicely. There is plenty of the richness readers have come to expect from Alpha Omega, but the Sunshine Valley also offers a good bit of refinement - not to mention a ton of class. This is one of the more complete wines in the range.
Very deep purple-black in color, the nose of the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Sunshine Valley Vineyard sings of crushed blackberries, warm cassis and mulberries with suggestions of chargrill, violets, fragrant earth and fungi plus a waft of oolong tea. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers a fair bit of textured chew with a wicked backbone of freshness and lots of black and blue fruit lingering on the finish.
