Tasting notes
Bright red-ruby. Inviting aromas of redcurrant, plum, spices, tobacco and cocoa powder lifted by a floral element. Suave, seamless and nicely concentrated; a bit less open-knit than the Georges III cabernet, showing less easy sweetness and more medicinal reserve today. Tannins are substantial but fine. Still a bit youthfully closed, but has the density and broad, ripe tannins for mid-term cellaring.

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon To Kalon North Blocks stands out for its racy, opulent personality. Texturally soft and luscious, the North Blocks is marked by super-ripe fruit that skirts the edge of overripeness. Hard tannins from the oak is quite evident as well. Ultimately this is a wine of significant promise but unfulfilled potential.

The estate’s Cabernets are rich and full-bodied, yet also express plenty of site-specific character. Tel. (707) 302-1124
