Chalky limestone, 55 ares. Clear, saturated cherry hue. Lots of spice and toasty oak. Deep redcurrant, strawberry and raspberry fruit. Ripe and spicy young Pinot. Sweet but mercifully without vulgarity. It’s perfect for those that want to drink young Pinot Noir, but lacks that savoury leash to take it elsewhere. (MH)

Tank sample. Mid to deep crimson. Good, pure, ripe fruit on the nose and then rather a sandy texture on the palate but very sincere somehow. Lots of pleasure to come here as everything is in balance and there is no excess of ripeness, acidity or tannin. I’d hoped the less-than-famous name might make it a bargain but I was wrong. (JR)
