Tasting notes
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Le Nouveau Western emerges from a parcel in the Star vineyard in Rutherford planted with Martha's Clone Cabernet. Bold, powerful and savory, the Nouveau Western is full of character. Crushed leaves, tobacco, cedar and menthol give the 2016 an expressive aromatic upper register that is quite distinctive. Iron, chocolate and dark red fruit flavors develop with time in the glass. Bold and racy, with tons of nuance, the 2016 has so much to offer. This deceptively medium-bodied Cabernet packs a real punch.
