Tasting notes
Coming from a cool site outside of Monterey, the 2018 Pinot Noir Coastview Vineyard boasts a ruby hue as well as a complex, nuanced nose of red fruits, spring flowers, and scorched earth. Opening up nicely with time in the glass, it's medium-bodied and has firm yet ripe tannins, nicely integrated acidity, and outstanding length. I love its overall balance as well as is purity. It's going to integrate some background oak with 2-3 years of bottle age and keep for a good decade.

The 2018 Pinot Noir Coastview Vineyard is a bit hard to taste today, as the elements haven't fully come together just yet. There is plenty of depth and persistence, but the tannins are a bit unruly at this stage. It will be interesting to see what time brings, but I am optimistic, as the wine develops beautifully with aeration, which really seems to release brightness and depth to the red fruit flavors.
