18 months in French oak barriques. Big step up in price from their Chevalier. And the price is on the nose – expensive French oak. Smells of cigars and freshly shaved barrels. Slender elderberry fruit hanging off the arms of plenty of young, suave, bullish tannins. Precisely tailored but buttoned down and showing professional reserve. Impressive, but I find myself wondering what would happen if you loosened the tie... Perhaps in a couple of years? (TC)
