Medium-deep red. Musky, Burgundian aromas of strawberry, raspberry, coffee and underbrush. Velvety, nicely concentrated and suave, with insidious sweetness and complexity. Distinctly Burgundian in texture. Long finish features dusty tannins that reach the front teeth. I sucked up a half-bottle or so of this stuff alongside a 1998 Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Cailles from Robert Chevillon; the Chevillon wine was a bit sweeter and a bit silkier, but the two bottles were more alike than different.
