The dark ruby-colored 1999 Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d'Orveaux Vieilles Vignes has a super-ripe black fruit-scented nose. Medium-bodied and highly extracted, this is a muscular, sweet, blackberry, plum, and blueberry-packed wine. It reveals outstanding ripeness to its tannin and powerful tar and licorice-like flavors that are also found in its long, supple finish. Projected maturity: 2003-2010+. Represented by Russell Herman, Berkeley Heights, NJ; tel. (908) 771-9082.
