Score 87/100 · Drink 2000-2020, Robert Parker, Jun 2000

Surprisingly alive, but firm, foursquare, and monolithic, this dark amber/ruby-colored Latour is reticent, but vigorous and concentrated. There is noticeable acidity as well as smoky, mineral, tobacco, and herb aromas, good depth, but not much charm or sweetness. It will continue to age for 15-20 years.
