Bright deep red. Raspberry, earth, coffee, mocha and herbs on the nose. Firm, juicy and solidly structured; comes across as richer and sweeter today than the village Chambolle, but with lovely precision too. This coats more of the mouth and finishes with lovely lift. Better in bottle than it was a year ago from barrel.

Cask sample. Fresh, clean nose but still lots of acidity on the palate. Quite punchy and dramatic although at the moment it seems slightly scrawny. Very, very dry finish. (JR)
