Cask sample. Very expensive. A grand cru with purity and power. Fine tannin and subtle, supporting oak. But there are better-value grands crus if that's what you want. (AWH)

(from a .22 ha holding in En Orveaux). An exuberantly floral nose offers an array of lavender, violet and lilac nuances that add a sense of elegance to the spiced liqueur-like dark berry fruit aromas. The racy, refined and admirably pure middleweight flavors possess a silky and notably finer if less powerful mouthfeel while delivering excellent length on the mineral-inflected, youthfully austere and built-to-age finale. Lovely and I particularly like the balance
