Good red-ruby color. Wild berry aromas complicated by molasses and soy sauce. Concentrated, dense and very young, with a restrained sweetness and an emerging note of violet. Relies more on its serious tannic clout than on its acidity for structure. In a distinctly tougher style, and in need of at least seven or eight years patience.

Bright, deep ruby-red. Very ripe, wild aromas of kirsch, black raspberry and game. Round, sweet and voluminous on the palate, with complex flavors of black cherry, minerals, menthol, licorice and smoked meat. Serious tannins mask sound underlying acidity on the long finish.
