Tasting notes
Lallier's NV Grande Réserve Brut is a deep, ripe, elegant and perfectly balanced assemblage of 65% Pinot Noir from Aÿ and Verzenay, and 35% Chardonnay from Avize and Cramant; so, all sourced in Grands and Premiers Crus villages around Aÿ. This fizz is very clear and stylish on the nose, with pure red fruit and some refreshing lemon aromas along with brioche, hazelnut and stewed apple flavors. Round and nobly textured on the palate, with a stimulatingly fresh minerality, this is a remarkable elegant, refined and expressive Champagne with great purity and a persistent finish. A medium-bodied classic! The wine I tasted was disgorged in December 2014 and is perfect to drink now and over the next 4-6, or even more years.

Ay. Quite a deep straw. Smells a bit wild-flower-like, sort of biodynamic! Fleury? Tight knit with lots going on. Interesting even if there is a bit of bruised apple on the finish. Quite long and certainly interesting. A bit chewy, but very attractive. (JR)
