2002 Weingut Johannishof (H.H. Eser) Rüdesheimer Berg Rottland Riesling Auslese

(for 375 ml.) Plum, peach and honey aromas are reminiscent of a great Wiltinger Braune Kupp from Muller. Rich, pure pit fruit flavors on the palate, with a delicate but dramatic interweaving of botrytisin. Very long aftertaste. It's not clear that this has the latent complexity to compare with last year's version, but time will tell. Potential 2 stars.
