From Échezeaux du Dessus and Les Poulaillères. Barrel sample. Peppery, ripe and dark-fruited. Savoury, very slightly charry and a hint of dark chocolate. On the palate, surprisingly silky tannins, dry but delicate for this grand cru and at this at this early stage. Slight bitterness on the finish. (JH)

Once again, the nose is sufficiently reduced to blur the nuances of what appears to be ripe fruit. There is good volume and focus to the middle weight flavors that are a bit less succulent while offering better precision on the saline-inflected, firm and youthfully austere finale. Moderate patience suggested.
