Score 84/100 · Robert Parker, Jun 2012

Composed of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot and 17% Cabernet Franc, the 2002 The Oracle is a fully mature, austere, angular effort with some jagged tannins in the finish. Its modest fruit appears to be fading, so owners should be planning on drinking it up (although it is capable of lasting longer if you like your wines more reserved and under-fruited). Tel. (est. 50; 52% cabernet sauvignon, 24% merlot and 24% cabernet franc) Good medium red. Aromatic nose combines cherry, cedar, loam and tobacco, along with a balsamic note. Soft and lush in the mid-palate, with subtle flavors of redcurrant, red plum, loam and tobacco. With moderate stuffing, the finish shows a slight green edge. But I liked this wine's rather Old World restraint.
