Tasting notes
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Montecillo is medium to deep garnet-purple colored with a nose of crushed blackcurrants, blackberries and plums with bay leaves, earth and menthol nuances plus pencil shavings hints. The palate is medium to full-bodied with firm, grainy tannins, great freshness and loads of vitality, finishing long with an herbal lift.

Even though it has just been bottled, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Montecillo Vineyard is superb. Powerful and tightly wound, the 2016 is nevertheless quite expressive, with tremendous aromatic and flavor intensity to match the firm, hillside tannins. Hints of cedar, tobacco, licorice and leather gradually develop in the glass, but it will be years before the 2016 is ready to offer its best drinking. There is so much potential here.
