Jancis Robinson MW, Jul 2025

Another gorgeous nose in this Corcelette vertical; tremendous purity. The energy in this wine is extraordinary. Thrumming with intensity and tension. Darker fruit, touch of cassis and framboise. Silky fruit. Richness building tapestry. Resplendent richness, plush. Silky and curvy tannins. Blood-orange acidity. A tapestry of tannins. Dangerously delicious. Love the length of texture… Harmony, and everything in place. This was so, so good with rare beef, sliced succulently thick and piled with semi-roasted red and orange cherry tomatoes, swimming in fresh, finely chopped herbs, red-wine vinegar, beef juice and olive oil. I wavered between 17.5 and 18 for the score, and even though I ended on the (cowardly) 17.5, I still keep wondering if this is an 18. (TC)

The 2019 Morgon Corcelette has a vivacious, Pinot-like bouquet with finely delineated crushed strawberry and Morello cherry scents. The palate is well balanced with a bright red cherry- and clementine-tinged entry. It has good depth, a vibrant countervailing line of acidity and a dash of white pepper on the finish. This is maturing beautifully in bottle. The 2019 is excellent.

Vivid ruby. An assertive, spice- and mineral-accented bouquet evokes ripe red and blue fruits and incense and shows excellent clarity. Vibrant and precise on the palate, offering bitter cherry, boysenberry and candied lavender flavors that deepen with air while retaining vivacity. Plays power off delicacy with a sure hand and finishes very long and gently chewy, with polished tannins and resonating floral and mineral notes.
