Lightish cherry red. More red-fruited than the Vieilles Vignes, more scented. Perhaps a little stalky? Needs more time and has just about enough fruit depth for the structure. (JH)

The 2014 Gevrey Chambertin Clos Village was showing a bit of stemminess on the nose that will hopefully be subsumed with time. The palate is medium-bodied, a little disjointed at the moment with a veneer of creamy oak (30%) that needs to be absorbed. I think this will come together by the time of bottling and it may well warrant a higher score then.

Domaine Heresztyn-Mazzini was established in 2012 when Florence Heresztyn took over her family domaine in Gevrey-Chambertin with her husband Simon Mazzini (who originally comes from Champagne).
