Tasting notes
(33% garnacha, 32% carinena, 25% cabernet sauvignon and 10% syrah) Glass-staining ruby. Exotically perfumed, drop-dead bouquet of spicy red berries, candied cherry, musky Indian spices and fresh flowers. Really takes over the palate, showing liqueur-like raspberry and blackberry flavors and impressive mineral lift. The finish strongly echoes the red fruit qualities and clings impressively. Extremely sexy wine, and already drinking well.

Celler del Pont is a garage wine made by Montse Nadal, a professor of oenology whose specialty is the terroir of Priorat. The 2005 Lo Givot is 33% Garnacha, 32% Carinena, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Syrah. Purple-colored, it has a splendid perfume of pain grille, slate/mineral, wild blueberry, black cherry, and black currant. On the palate the wine is elegant with a liquid minerality character. Intense, layered, and long, it will benefit from 3-5 years of cellaring and be at its best from 2012 to 2025. Importer: Eric Solomon, European Cellars, Charlotte, NC; tel. (704) 358-1565
