Tasting notes
Sourced from a single western-facing block at the Donum’s Carneros estate, this wine leaps from the glass with wild-berry compote and Bing cherry aromas. Violet and lavender add a beautiful floral supporting note, along with subtle potpourri, tangerine peel and bitter amaro. It’s so elegant and supple with gorgeous fresh fruit which steers the wine into long finish. It’s made entirely with the Mount Eden clone and aged for 16 months in 75% new French oak.

Fully ripe and rich, this bold and concentrated wine is also well supported by moderate tannins and good acidity for great balance. It shows power with grace in the focused black cherries, oak spices and cloves that swell on the palate and linger on the finish.
The 2021 Pinot Noir Hypersonic is a saturated red color, with aromas of damp forest floor, sunbaked cherry, and melding spices. Full-bodied and ripe with baked red plum, fig, and baked earth, it retains more meaty fruit and richness, is rounded on the finish, and has a touch of blue fruit. Drink it over the near term.
This is a very attractive pinot with ripe strawberry, chocolate and hazelnut aromas and flavors. Lots of flowers. Medium-bodied with firm and very creamy tannins. The texture and polish is very seductive. Mount Eden clone. New wine. Find it. Drinkable, but a few years will make it even better.
