Tasting notes
Composed of 67% Cabernet, 21% Merlot and 12% Petit Verdot, the 2019 Columbia Valley Red Wine offers a fantastic nose with a juicy and dusty core of fruit and aromas of black cherry, crème de cassis and dusty black raspberry and a fine oak essence layered throughout with notions of elegant purple flowers. Full-bodied, the palate offers gobs of fruit, excellent focus and precision and a firm tannic edge before gliding to a long-winding and ever-evolving finish. It’s another brilliant offering from Passing Time.

The 2019 Red Wine Columbia Valley can be thought of as the entry level wine for this label. Composed of 67% Cabernet, 21% Merlot, and 12% Petit Verdot, it's one heck of a base cuvée, and I'd happily drink a bottle. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by classic notes of darker currants, tobacco leaf, chocolate, and herbal notes, and it's medium to full-bodied, round, plush, and seamless on the palate, with terrific balance. It's beautifully done and can be enjoyed any time over the coming 15 years or more.
