The 2005 Pinot Noir Weir Vineyard is a distinctive, earthy, rustic-styled effort displaying a deep ruby hue in addition to abundant amounts of sassafras, damp earth, forest floor, sweet cherry, and steely mineral-like characteristics. Well-made but tightly knit, it will benefit from additional bottle age. Tel. (707) 433-6425; Fax (707) 433-6546

Dark red. Lush blueberry and blackberry nose shows an intriguing mix of depth and lift, with a light smoky note adding interest. Suave dark fruit flavors are supported by gentle acidity and firmed by fine, silky tannins. Impressively deep and sweet on the finish, which demonstrates impressive breadth, power and precision.
