The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Armory spent 20 months in 100% new French oak. The nose is driven by soft, mellow aromas of black cherry and red plum. Unlike many of the more concentrated bottlings in this range, the palate is direct and refreshingly medium-bodied. The finish splits the difference between an easygoing, juicy succulence and a modern, polished, fine tannic structure.
Dark-fruited, classic aromas of blackcurrants, cedar and tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and acidity, showing notes of blackberries, cassia bark, dried herbs and leather. Very savory and austere. Made from a blend of 79% cabernet sauvignon, 8% malbec, 6% syrah, 4% petite sirah and 3% petit verdot. Drink or hold.
The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Armory Vineyard wafts up with a spice-box bouquet of cedar chips, dried black cherries, incense and shavings of blood orange. Juicy on the palate, it offers crisp mineral tones and a core of dark red fruits elevated by a hint of citrus and rosemary. Sweet tannins frame the experience without slowing its momentum as nuances of clove and cocoa taper off.
