Full bottle 1,382 g. Bodegas Rectoral de Amandi was founded in 1989 in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra, in the region called Amandi. They work with 180 ha of private vineyards and about 400 local vine growers. Vines planted in the traditional way on terraces on very steep hills, up to 500 m above sea level, and some vineyards have slopes around 40%. All grapes are necessarily hand-picked. 85% Mencía, 8% Garnacha, 7% Sousón. Macerated and spontaneously fermented at 25 ºC for 15–20 days in stainless steel. Take a 7B pencil (dark, graphite, coal dust soft); trace a dark-red rose petal on tissue paper; fold the paper into an envelope; tuck the pencil inside it; fill it with black cherries, three cloves, a pinch of caraway seeds, a sprig of rosemary. Sprinkle in some menthol-sherbet space dust. Drop in a fairy-sized firework. Close the envelope, crush elderberries between your finger tips, finger-print the envelope with the purple-black juice. Deliver it in a wine glass. Is it  possible  that this impishly delicious, outrageously fresh yet black-velvet sumptuous, doo-wop fun yet pretty complex, super-juicy wine is under £14?!  VVGV (TC)
