Sixteen months in French oak (35% new). Dark glowing crimson. Powerful black pepper aromas. Good freshness and precise acidity. Light but ripe tannins build on the finish. Very appetising and very Syrah. Not transparent but rewarding. Hermitage more a model than Côte Rôtie! Luscious and pure. (JR)
