From a parcel high on the hillside in the direction of Blagny, the 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières unwinds in the glass with notes of pear, vanilla pod, fresh mint and orange oil. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and precise, it's quite open-knit for a young Perrières, but the site reasserts itself in the form of chalky back-end grip.

Cask sample. This shows good minerality and steeliness on the nose as well as ripe nectarines. The acidity is there and runs right through the core of the wine, lifting the ripe sweet buttery fruit to the long layered finish. (AC)
