Tasting notes
The 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts is the most airy, weightless and gracious of Jacques Carillon's 2010s. White flowers, crushed rocks and pears waft across the palate with gorgeous elegance and finesse. The Referts is not obvious; rather it is a wine of understatement. This is a more ethereal style within Puligny, but quite pretty all the same.

(Not yet released) Jacques Carillon did not have an easy go of things in 2010, the first vintage he made and bottled on his own after he and his brother Francois divided their family’s domaine. Rain and cold weather during the flowering took with them 20-25% of yields in the village level wines and as much as 40% in the premier crus. The 2010s spent one year in barrel (15%-20% new), followed by six months in steel. The 2010s were bottled from March to June 2012, starting with the simplest wines first.
