2015 Trefethen Family Cabernet Sauvignon Estate

Reduced yields, and thus increased concentration, due to poor fruit set and lack of rain. 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot, 4% Malbec. Harvested 5 September to 3 October. Matured for 18 months in oak, of which 49% was new. Deep crimson with some purple. Mild and muted nose but lovely rich sweetness on the palate. Dry, lively finish with real zest. Orange zest and pith. Still chewy. (JR)
