Made from fruit bought from Chevillon, apparently. This had a strong animal nose and quite marked acidity. There was no shortage of fruit but it's a bit chunky and gamey. I can't imagine this ever really settling down to become a beauty. It became decidedly tart on the finish in the glass. (JR)

Ruby-red. Considerably less perfumed aromas of dark berries and licorice. As concentrated as the Cailles, but far tougher in the mouth. Darker flavors of violet and black pepper. Powerfully structured and unevolved. Finishes drier and more tannic. Really stubbornly backward today.
