Good medium-deep color, showing the faintest beginning of amber. High-pitched and refined on the nose, conveying remarkably youthful scents of raspberry, cranberry, rose petal, blood orange and mint. A juicy, sappy, succulent wine with terrific energy and precision; like a smaller-scaled, or at least a less explosive, 2010. Finishes vibrant, minerally and gripping, with subtle salinity, sneaky saline persistence, and seriously firm tannins that avoid dryness. (ST)

Medium-deep red. Superripe nose dominated by smoky, earthy soil tones. Silky on entry, then rich, succulent and deep, with very sweet red fruit and mineral flavors building impressively on the back half. Finishes ripely tannic and long. Like a few other Jadot '02s, this shows terrific early sweetness but also has the structure to age. A very strong vintage for this cuvee
Revealing sweet oak scents, the 2002 Corton Pougets expands on the palate to display a powerful, structured character packed with mineral-laced dark fruits. Highly structured and firm, this is a medium to full bodied wine built for the long-haul. It is admirably concentrated, dense, and deep. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2018. Deep, bright crimson. Hint of something roasted – chestnuts? – on the nose. Lots of acidity. Very severe and ambitious. Long term stuff with a lot of acidity still to soften. (cask sample) (JR)
