Quite developed nose. Fermented honey flavours! Smooth balm to the throat. Some freshness. A pleasure to taste a wine that is not too young, though it has quite a way to go too. (JR)

The 2004 Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Spatlese A.P. #7 smells of ripe peach and pineapple. Refined and elegant on the palate, it juxtaposes creaminess and brightness, filling the mouth with sweet lime, pink grapefruit, pineapple, peach, and a generous dollop of honey. The theme of richness-with-delicacy persists in a finish of amazing poise and persistence. Importer: Rudi Wiest, Cellars International, Carlsbad, CA; tel. (800) 596-9463.

Open nose. Extremely sleek with some nice molten honey flavours but, to me, not desperately more winning than the wine above. Leafy nose and a big mouthful of fruit with good definition. Tastes more like Kabinett in terms of concentration. Slightly astringent on the finish. (JR)
