Score 15/20 · Drink 2021-2029, Tom Parker MW, jancisrobinson.com, Sep 2019

70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. After a winter that was rainy and cold, spring was dry and relatively mild, allowing for an early and homogeneous flowering. The beginning of the summer was particularly hot but fortunately tempered by rains in August. It was only then that the veraison gave way to maturation. During the harvest, which took place on the 21 September to 7 October, the weather conditions were mild. Savoury with slightly muddled red and black fruits on the nose. Plump fruit at the core on the palate – cherries and plums with a little star anise. Classic, chewy, tannic backbone to hold everything together, though a little drying on the finish. (TP)
