Nuanced aromas of wet earth, spice and mushrooms, together with crushed berries. Full-bodied and firm with creamy tannins. Precise and focused with pinpointed tannins that give a round, fine-velvet texture. Long, fresh finish.

The 2018 Pinot Noir Finn is one of the many standouts in this range. The purity of the flavors is just breathtaking. In most of these Pinots, the whole clusters are evident, but the Finn is all about fruit, acid and structure. It's a balance that works so well here. Bright red cherry fruit, blood orange and crushed rocks give this vertical, vibrant Pinot tons of energy. In a word: impressive. The Finn is a blend of an east-facing hillside site with sandy soils on the estate planted with Calera clone Pinot and a second parcel in Occidental Road on sandy and silky clay planted with an assortment of heritage clones. It is an unforgettable wine.

The 2018 Pinot Noir Finn is the star of the Dumol portfolio this year. Medium ruby-purple, it opens slowly on the nose, giving more nuance with time in the glass: roasted blackberries and crushed red cherries segue to mushroom, fragrant earth, blue flowers and tangerine. The medium-bodied palate sheds its broody, earthy top notes for fuller, lush fruits accented by bright pops of amaro. It's finely grained, addictingly fresh, and it finishes very long and layered. This is a stunning wine that will benefit from another three to five years in bottle, although it's incredibly delicious straight out of the gate.
