Drink 0-0, David Schildknecht, Vinous
This smells of the essence of pears and peaches, laced with horseradish that sharply signals an advanced state of botrytis. Without quite the complexity or polish of the Abtsberg Eiswein, it still displays imposing richness, no excess weight, and a long, honeyed, peachy finish. Carl von Schubert in fact prefers this to his '99 Eiswein, while cellarmaster Alfons Heinrich seems to side with me. 1 star.
