The 2020 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons wafts from the glass with aromas of pear, green apple, white flowers, freshly baked bread and wet stones. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and elegant, it's suave and seamless, with lively acids, chalky grip and a long, saline finish.

The 2020 Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru is showing just a little reduction on the nose. The palate is well balanced with a sappy, red apple and ginger-tinged entry. There’s fine weight in the mouth, though this Vaillons doesn’t quite deliver the flow or prettiness of the Fôret at the moment, hence my more parsimonious score.
