2012 Rovellotti Ghemme Chioso Dei Pomi

Nebbiolo and Vespolina aged for 18 months in large and medium large oak casks and a further six months in bottle. Concentrated maturing ruby with orange tinges. Compact nose that is at first a little balsamic. Sour cherry and iron. Still youthful with tightly stitched-together fruit. Tangy finish that is long and lingering and with a gradual build-up of tannins, while the fruit is still closed. Needs at least another year, even two, in the bottle. Burgundian in stature and build.
