The 2016 Petit-Village has an outgoing and intense bouquet with blackberry, raspberry coulis, touches of menthol coming through with time, retaining fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins that lend it a fleshy mouthfeel. Gentle grip, lightly spiced, with decent length on the finish, this should age well in bottle. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting.

The 2016 Petit-Village put in a far better performance here than previously. This bottle has an expressive, well-defined bouquet of lifted black fruit laced with violet and iris, very pure and utterly charming. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, a fine bead of acidity and a beguiling sense of cohesion on the cedar- and Chinese-five-spice- infused finish. A lovely Pomerol that should give 15 years of pleasure. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.
Tasted blind. Animal fur on the nose again. Cool and fresh on the palate. Nicely assembled and actually rather ‘cool’ and dry on the end. Quite grown up. (JR)

Positioned at the heart of the Pomerol appellation, this château comprises a single 10.5-hectare plot of vines, with one of the highest proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon in the region.
