Tasting notes
Tasted blind at the Burgfest annual tasting, the 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur has a finely-tuned bouquet with scents of orange blossom, lemon peel and flinty aromas. The palate is very well balanced with a fine thread of acidity. I adore the harmonious nature of this Valmur, the silver bead of acidity and the precision on the finish that fans out gloriously. This is an outstanding Valmur from Chrisitan Moreau, a wine that appears to be getting better and better with age.

Tense, spritzy, pithy. Lots of substance and chew on the palate. Very youthful, savoury fruit. Grandiose. (RH)
(50% in tank and 50% in barrel, including 3% new oak): Pale, green-tinged yellow. High-pitched aromas of lime, white pepper and spices. Densely packed and rich but tightly wound and youthfully austere, with classic saline minerality to the citrus peel and pepper flavors. This very fine-grained wine finishes with terrific energy, grip and spicy length.
