Score 91+/100 · Drink 2022-2030, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2018

(from 60+-year-old vines on limestone-rich soil in the upper part of the cru just below an old quarry): Pale, bright yellow. Aromas of pear and white peach are lifted by musky powdered stone. Distinctly more minerally and saline than the village wine, showing less easy sweetness and pliancy but sharper delineation and more inner-mouth tension. This soil-driven wine finishes with excellent mineral grip and length. This will need at least a couple years of cellaring to unwind. This very dry, salty wine really dusts the palate with citrus peel and crushed stone.
