The complex, gorgeous 2012 Cabernet Franc Blue Line is composed of 83% Cabernet Franc, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot. This comes from 22-year-old vines planted in rocky, gravelly soil. A spectacular effort, it boasts deep forest floor, black raspberry, blueberry and wet gravelly aromas and flavors. Dense, full-bodied, opulent and fleshy, but not heavy, this killer Cabernet Franc should be consumed over the next decade.
Dark red berries, plums, smoke, new leather and cloves meld together in a rich, sumptuous wine loaded with class. The 2012 Cabernet Franc Blueline is beautifully layered, expansive and nuanced, with virtually all of the body of previous years, but more energy and detail. Clean, saline-infused mineral notes support the striking finish. What a gorgeous wine this is. The 2012 is 83% Cabernet Franc, 11% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot.
