Tasting notes
Medium ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Pinot Noir Laguna Ridge Vineyard is a little closed to begin, revealing (with plenty of coaxing) beautiful redcurrants, Bing cherries, wild blueberries and black raspberries scents with touches of fragrant moss, underbrush and fungi. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers a wonderful intensity of blue and black fruits with a taut yet ripe, finely grained texture and a long earthy finish.

The 2015 Pinot Noir Laguna Ridge (formerly Kistler Vineyard) is just as riveting from bottle as it was from tank. Inky, deep and explosive, the 2015 hits the palate with a rush of blue/purplish fruit, creme de cassis, lavender, menthol, game, white flowers and incense. Vivid and spectacularly rich, this full-throttle Pinot has so much to offer. The tannins need time to soften, but all the elements are in the right place. A flourish of floral and savory notes add the closing layers of complexity.

About the producer

Kistler’s Chardonnays are some of the world’s most sought-after. This cult Californian producer crafts small volumes of exceptional, rich and generous, yet mineral and precise wines. With almost the entire production sold directly to their mailing list, the wines are also incredibly hard to find.
