Tasting notes
The absolutely incredible 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard ratchets up the level of saturated color, has even greater intensity than the 2012, fuller body, more layers, greater structure and notes of pen ink, blueberry liqueur, blackberry, camphor and charcoal embers. It is a super-extracted, rich and powerful wine that will come into its own in 4-5 years and last three decades or more.

Sweet red cherry, plum, mint and new leather are some of the notes that flesh out in the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Las Piedras. Dark, unctuous and racy, the 2013 offers fine balance, but it feels a bit blowsy today, with less of the incisive minerality that is typical of this site. This is an especially intense, super-ripe Piedras.
