Score 17.5/20 · Drink 2021-2025, Jancis Robinson MW, May 2022

Certified CCOF organic, Demeter biodynamic, B Corporation. Single-vineyard expression of Sauvignon Blanc from the Spottswoode estate. Only 104 cases produced, in honour of Spottswoode founder Mary Weber Novak, made from the vineyard block also named in her honour. The nose and palate of this wine are both elegant and well balanced delivering a sophisticated complex of flavours through a refreshing and lengthy palate. This is an elegant, lightly savoury yet lifted expression of Sauvignon Blanc. Nicely executed. Recommended. (ECB)

About the producer

Spottswoode
Spottswoode

Spottswoode is one of those rare Napa estates whose reputation rests less on volume or spectacle than on persistent exactitude. Set on the western edge of St Helena, where the Mayacamas rise and afternoon breezes temper the valley’s warmth, the vineyard occupies a favoured pocket of the appellation.
