Tasting notes
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder is a gorgeous example of the vintage, and about as plush, sexy and polished as this mountain appellation gets. Coming from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it offers a sweet, opulent, hedonistic style to go with terrific notes of crème de cassis, spring flowers, Asian spices and hints of dried earth. Full-bodied, textured and certainly offering plenty of pleasure today, it will keep for two decades.

O' Shaughnessy's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder is magnificent. Lavender, orange peel, blue fruit, menthol and cloves inform a pure Cabernet Sauvignon endowed with tremendous intrigue. The combination of radiant fruit and the inherent structure of the year yield a Cabernet Sauvignon that is bursting at the seams with personality and class. This is without question one of the wines of the vintage.
The fabulous 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder is another glorious example of mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, its opaque purple color is followed by a meaty, bloody, prime rib-like character intermixed with crème de cassis and floral notes. Deep, full-bodied, opulent and incredibly intense and pure, it is superb example of Cabernet Sauvignon from Mt. Veeder. Drink it now or cellar it for 20-25 years.
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder sizzles with tension and Veeder character. Bright red-toned fruit, iron, mint, white pepper and tobacco all race across the palate. A wine of drive and tension, the 2012 is super-impressive in this tasting. Its 70-75% new oak is deftly handled. This is a terrific showing.
