Tasting notes
A discreet application of wood is present on the more restrained if otherwise similar nose. The supple, delicious and vibrant flavors are acceptably concentrated yet still flash impressive power and minerality on the driving, complex and superbly persistent finish. This is quite firmly structured and a wine that's very probably going to need at least 20 years of keeping due to the large format bottling. In a word, this won't wow you with its density but the harmony of expression is seriously lovely. Drink 2042+

The 2022 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts is unusually demonstrative at this early stage, wafting from the glass with aromas of blackberries, vine smoke, peonies and rose petals. Full-bodied, broad and enveloping, it's deep and fleshy, with supple tannins, lively acids and a saline finish. I suspect this will offer an unusually wide drinking window.
Available in magnums only. An even mid crimson purple. Quite an intensity of fruit here. In the dark raspberry style, very complete, fills the palate, balanced tannins and acidity, and very persistent. All that it should be. The most powerful of the Vosne-Romanée 1ers Crus on show here.
