Score 93/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2006

Highly complex aromas of pear, iodine, smoky oak, botanical herbs and sea shell. Ripe, dense and intensely flavored but light on its feet, with pear and apple fruit complicated by spice and a metallic minerality. Very tactile, sweet, concentrated wine that conveys a strong impression of soil. Finishes with impressive rising length.
