100% new oak. Barrel sample. Very dark core. Toasty, charry dark fruit. Black cherry on the nose but more savoury and dry and on the finish. Super-fine tannins, not as soft as the Échezeaux but not at all aggressive, with a dry savoury finesse to the finish. There’s power here and a dry, dry intensity, a little unforgiving at the moment. But long and has great potential. (JH)
