2020 Domaine Drouhin-Laroze Gevrey-Chambertin Au Closeau 1er Cru

Due to the vigour of this parcel, the Domaine undertook a green harvest in making their 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Au Closeau 1er Cru. It is fragrant and pure on the nose: blackberry, raspberry and light wild strawberry scents comingle, just a touch of vanilla emanating from the oak (60%). The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, the 40% whole bunch imparting pleasant white pepper and bay leaf notes that lends another dimension on the juicy finish. This is well worth looking out for.
