Good full red. Complex aromas of raspberry, mocha, coffee and underbrush. Tactile and strong in extract but tight and backward today, showing more saline soil tones than primary fruit. This big but closed wine needs time. Finishes with substantial tongue-dusting tannins.

Good full medium red. Captivating nose combines cherry, licorice, minerals, smoke and rose petal. Supple, rich and fruity, with strong but ripe acidity keeping the wine's early sweetness under wraps. Not particularly fleshy for this cuvee (the potential alcohol was a moderate 12.5%), with the result that its tannins come across as a bit dusty today.
